Superbly crafted beers

Barrington’s is the first craft brewery to be situated within the town of Plettenberg Bay itself.

A show stopping triple volume reception gives way to the inner workings of the brewery. Take a front row seat, enjoy the malt laden aromas of a brew and a taster of every beer on tap, while watching our Barrington’s brewer perfect his craft.

our garden

At the forefront of Barrington’s ethos is its absolute commitment to sustainability. Nowhere is this more evident than in its magnificent 1000m² white walled, organic kitchen garden that one journeys through on the way in.

our passion

is food and where it comes from

Aside from the organic kitchen garden, other notable features include a 120 000 lt underground grey water reservoir to be used for irrigation purposes, gas geysers throughout and the future installation of 180 solar panels.  Support for locally farmed, ethically produced meat and produce from within a 30km radius and Barrington’s very own daily harvest will further assist in limiting the operations carbon footprint throughout.

THE HISTORY

The land that the brewery stands on once belonged to Barrington’s charge, young William Newdigate. Our logo, a merino ram, a reminder of Henry’s theatrical bridal party landing on Central Beach and their combined industrious agricultural undertakings. The name itself, a hat’s off to the man, the Honourable Henry Frederic Francis Adair Barrington.
